Vaccine maker Novavax says its COVID-19 shot is highly effective against the coronavirus and also protects against variants.
The biotech company based out of Maryland announced their data from a large, late-stage study conducted in the U.S. and Mexico.
Novavax says the study found their vaccine was 90% effective.
They plan to file for emergency use authorization in the U.S. and other countries by September.

The survey conducted through Corewell Health identifies some limitations to the survey, but does track near national trends.
